Dima M. Toukan co-founded INTEGRATED in 2011 after working at the Middle East Partnership Initiative as a Specialist for Political and Women’s issues for seven Arabian Peninsula countries and Jordan and recognizing the Arab Spring as an inflection point to rethink the ways in which development programming is implemented. She currently serves as Chairperson of INTEGRATED’s Board.  Dima’s expertise in democracy and governance, economic development, gender equality, and aid localization is evident in her leadership roles in large-scale social/political assessments and strategies such as the Jordan National Youth Assessment and Jordan’s National Strategy for Women (2020-2025). She has served as strategist and lead evaluator on assignments for Global Affairs Canada, UNDP, DRC, UNOPS, Expertise France, IOM, AECID, USAID and OXFAM on assignments throughout MENA. Prior to founding INTEGRATED, she worked with Talal Abu Ghazaleh-Legal (TAG-Legal) the Jordan Institute of Diplomacy, and the Center for Strategic Studies at the University of Jordan. 

Dima is a member of Jordan River Foundation’s Board of Trustees. She is also a Non-Resident Scholar at the Middle East Institute in Washington, DC; member of the Expert Network of the Boston Consortium for Arab Region Studies, and the Research Ethics of MENA project at the Middle East Institute, Columbia University. She has published in Daedalus, the Journal of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences; the Middle East Institute; Wilson Center; the Arab Reform Initiative; and Sada – Carnegie Endowment for International Peace.
